West Orange Public Library Announces Anime Winners

WEST ORANGE, NJ - More than 60 votes were cast from April 23 through May 20 before the winners of the annual Anime Art Contest at the West Orange Public Library were announced on Wednesday, May 21. Entries included many mixed media pieces from marker art, color pencils, and even paper cutouts. All entries were mounted on colored paper and displayed in the teen area of the library.

For the second year in a row, Jerry’s Artist Outlet has sponsored this event by rewarding prizes to the winners. This year, four winners were selected: grand prize winner 6th grader, Ruth Donagher from Edison Middle School who went home with a $50 gift certificate, 8th grader Eginhard Rafhae̋l and 7th graders Sarah Salazar and Tiffany Habersham from Liberty Middle School. Each left with a Pental Arts Color Brush, a Dewent color kit and a Cansen Mixed Media Journal.

Former NY Giant Steve Weatherford and The Shauger Group Provide Thanksgiving Meals to Families in Need

EAST ORANGE, NJ - The Shauger Group, Inc. (TSG) has once again partnered with former New York Giants punter Steve Weatherford to spread holiday cheer and help families in need around Thanksgiving.

On Tuesday, Nov. 22 Weatherford and Donald Shauger, vice president of TSG, handed out turkeys to underprivileged families in Newark in an effort organized by the Believe in Newark Foundation.
