WEST ORANGE, NJ - All West Orange Schools are closed, today, Feb. 3 due to the impending snowstorm that is expected to bring 4-8 inches of snow. All afternoon and evening activities are also canceled.
A Winter Storm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service from 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday for snow that is forecast to accumulate between 4 and 8 inches.
A mix of light rain and snow will change over to all snow at around daybreak. The heaviest snow may be during the late morning and afternoon hours. Visibility could be reduced to a quarter of a mile or less at times, and snow-covered roadways will create hazardous travel conditions.
In addition to today's expected snowfall, more snow is expected to fall on Tuesday, beginning before 5am, and changing into snow and sleet. Accumulations 3 to 5 inches possible.
More freezing rain and sleet is predicted for Wednesday, beginning before 1pm, and slight chance of freezing rain between 1pm and 2pm, with additional precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
