West Orange Resident CC Minton Shares the Health

November 22, 2013 at 11:39 PM

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Cecelia Minton, better-known as "CC," is a West Orange resident that loves what she does.  In addition to being a devoted Mom to her two sons and happily married to her husband Doug, CC has embarked on a journey to realize her hopes and dreams, and help others accomplish their own as well. Meet CC MInton, businesswoman, author, health and fitness personality, and community volunteer.

We first met CC several years ago while she was a high profile Independent Distributor with Herbalife International in New Jersey.  As her children grew, CC was able to expand into various areas of the health industry and develop her vision for providing people with access, information, and encouragement to eat well, exercise, and enjoy life.

Crave the is a site developed by Minton that does just that.  As managing principal, MInton is committed to influencing the behaviors and lifestyles of the health-conscious consumer. Long considered an engaging and encouraging coach in the health and fitness scene, CC hopes to help others become a "better version of themselves."

While Crave the Lifestyle is the most recent addition to CC's accomplishments, she has also made appearances on radio and television to foster healthy lifestyles.  In 2012, she appeared on NY Radio 1130  Change Your Life program to provide tips on incorporating a healthy lifestyle into a busy schedule. As CC says, "it was a message targeted towards women. The pressures of society don't always afford women the opportunity to take the time that's needed for themselves.  They have to "just do it."

As a fitness instructor, CC reached clients from  Short Hills to the Jersey Shore, and women raved about her contagiously positive energy.  As one client said “she’s firm, but enforced with just the right touch."

CC volunteered her time to several organiziations, including the local Junior League by Chairing their Health and Nutrition Initiative; hosted a Walk Talk event in honor of the YMCA’s “America on the Move” Week, and served as a guest panelist with the Jack and Jill of America Foundation. Her volunteer experience helped to develop her leadership skills. In addition, Minton was recognized by the President's Challenge as Advocate of the Month for her work with the West Orange Boys and Girls Club.

In March, 2013, CC appeared on the ABC-TV afternoon program The Chew as a participant in a cooking class that prepared a healthy meal.

On November 14,  CC debuted her latest accomplishment: "Daddy's Greek Potato Pie," a self-published childrens' book that teaches about healthy food choices, at Supreme Bakery on Main Street in West Orange.

" I wrote Daddy's Greek Potato Pie to have an impact on children and their families.  Parents will do anything for their children so I figured that if I targeted children, it would be educational and fun for them and would allow me to have an impact on their families as well.  The idea to write the book came from play dates that my children had with their friends.  For some reason when kids came over, they enjoyed my husband's cooking.  My youngest, now a freshman in college, is a vegetarian.  My oldest - well lets say he's a very discriminating eater," laughed Minton. It is available for purchase on

Minton was excited about her strategic partnership with Supreme Bakery and its Master Chef/Owner Rich Stoltz.

"As far as anything else, I'm excited about the strategic partnership that I have with Supreme Bakery.  In 2010, I crossed paths with Richard Stolz, President and Master Baker, due to my being asked to be a part of a small segment on the Dr. Oz Show.  I shared a delicious mini key lime pie made from Supreme Bakery with viewers and the rest is history.  I never thought Supreme Bakery would one day carry my husband's pie.  We look forward to continuing the strategic partnership throughout 2014."

Daddy's Greek Potato Pie is available for sale at Supreme Bakery.  Check out their website at

In 2011 CC became involved with the West Orange School District's Health and Wellness Committee, that seeks to educate West Orange students about healthy food choices and lifestyles.  They have worked with the school district's food service provider, Sodexo, to provide more healthy lunch meal choices.

"I enjoy being a member of the West Orange Wellness Committee," Minton said.  "We're excited about the new Student Wellness Spotlight that has been launched at West Orange High School. We will highlight students who live a healthy lifestyle. All Mountaineers will have the opportunity to be recognized for their accomplishments. We are also working on supporting the elementary schools with a program that is currently being developed."

For CC Minton, the sky's the limit, and that's how she feels about her clients as well as her community.

Man vs. Waze

A lot of strange cars are traveling through my quiet neighborhood these days.  They are not driven by my neighbors.  Some mornings I even have trouble getting out of my driveway.

Ever since bridge repair closed a major thoroughfare near my house, the traffic on my sleepy street has increased dramatically.  And it is not by accident that commuters have figured out ...
