West Orange School District to Hold Kindergarten Presentation at Washington Elementary School

WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange School District will hold a Kindergarten presentation for parents of incoming Kindergarten students on Wednesday, March 12, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Washington Elementary School, 289 Main St. The announcement came today from Interim Superintendent James O'Neill.

The Kindergarten Program presentation at Washington Elementary School will provide an opportunity for parents to meet several of the elementary school principals, get information on what a full-day kindergarten program entails, and educate parents about the process necessary to prepare their children for kindergarten. 

The West Orange School District has seven elementary schools: Hazel, Gregory, Mt. Pleasant, Pleasantdale, Redwood, St. Cloud, and Washington. Children will attend schools based on the location of the their residence and the current districting protocol. Parents are encouraged to make their appointments to register now, as classes fill up rapidly in each of the schools.

Kindergarten registration is open in West Orange Public Schools for West Orange residents with children turning 5 years of age on or before October 1, 2014. The Registrar's Office began making registration appointments on Feb. 3, and registration officially begins on March 3.
