West Orange School District Transportation Department Discusses Bus Passes for 2013-2014

August 7, 2013 at 5:48 PM

WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange School district wants parents and guardians to know that the Transportation Department has mailed out  bus passes for general education students for the 2013-2014 school year.  Parents of children with special needs can expect to receive their passes between Aug. 10 and 23.

Edison Middle School students who are considered first-time school bus riders, along with their parents, attended a special meeting in June to review all bus procedures, rules and regulations. “It was a really valuable orientation for families,” said transportation director Pamela Nicholais. “We were able to answer many of the parents questions and the students received their bus passes on site.”

The West Orange School District, along with the Transportation Department, would like to remind parents to update their School Messenger contact information if anything has changed. School Messenger is used to call parents regarding bus delays and other transportation information. “If we have your correct mobile or home number in our system as well as your email address I it is really helpful and we can contact you directly if there is ever a transportation issue,” said Ms. Nicholais.

Ever since bridge repair closed a major thoroughfare near my house, the traffic on my sleepy street has increased dramatically.  And it is not by accident that commuters have figured out ...
