“The Westfield Area Y is thrilled to have been selected by Jersey Mike’s to be a Month of Giving Charity Partner,” said Bonnie Cohen, Director, Communications & Development, Westfield Area Y. “Proceeds will benefit the Strong Kids Campaign, which provides nearly $400,000 in direct financial assistance to over 300 individuals in need each year, primarily to enable their participation in Y child care and summer camp programs.”

Last year’s Month of Giving campaign raised $1.7 million for 86 different charities nationwide. Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised nearly $7.5 million for worthy local causes and distributed more than 600,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

“I would like to extend a personal invitation to come in and enjoy a Jersey Mike’s sub during our Month of Giving,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO, who started the company when he was only 17 years old.  “This year we hope to raise more than $2 million to support these local causes so we can bring hope to all those involved with the charities and make a difference in people’s lives.”
