The Town of Westfield honored its crossing guards on Friday, April 25, 2014 at the annual Crossing Guard Recognition Breakfast. The event was sponsored by the Parent Teacher Council and B.R.A.K.E.S. (Bikers, Runners And Kids are Entitled to Safety), a pedestrian organization in Westfield. The crossing guards play an important part in the completion of the goals of B.R.A.K.E.S.: to improve safety for all pedestrians and to encourage children to walk or bike to school.
