WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield Public Schools announced Friday that the deadline to file a petition to run in the next Board of Education election is July 28. Westfield residents interested in becoming a Board of Education member for a three-year term (2014-2017) must file a petition in person in the Office of the County Clerk at 2 Broad St., Room 113, Elizabeth, on or before 4 p.m. that day. The election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Nominating petition forms are available at the Board of Education office, 302 Elm Street, in Westfield.
Current members whose terms are expiring are Ann Cary, Mark Friedman and Rosanne Kurstedt. Cary announced that she would not seek re-election during Tuesday’s board meeting.
