WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse team crushed Bergen County Technical, 15-2, Saturday in the first round of NJSIAA Sectionals.

Players took turns scoring goals. Westfield Coach Patrick Touhy explained that the Blue Devils’ performance was not the result of one or two stars, but of many talented players working together.

“A lot of times the guy that gets the goal doesn’t always do all the work to get the goal. He becomes the recipient of that hard work,” said Touhy. “At the end of the day, the team is the real star.”

The team has “so much depth,” said Touhy. “Just a great group of guys … The future for us is definitely bright.”
