WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield Farmer’s Market ended its season in October, but the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce (GWACC) is bringing it back for a one-time only Thanksgiving Special Event on Saturday, Nov. 23. The holiday market will be open between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. in its usual location in the South Ave. parking lot of the Westfield Train Station.
The market will boast plenty of Jersey Fresh produce, plus holiday essentials like pies, butter, cheese and eggs.
GWACC Executive Director Heather Robinson said that the chamber has never before hosted a market so late in the season. They hope to make the holiday market an annual event.
“We feel like it will be perfect timing,” Robinson said. “People are going to be able to do some of their special holiday food shopping at our market and spend their money with local vendors.”
In addition to holiday essentials, the market will also offer prepared foods from Paolo’s Kitchen, a catering company based in New Providence.
“Paolo’s meals are very much homemade—really top-quality stuff,” Robinson said. “They really come in handy around holiday time.”
The holiday market will host several of the Westfield Farmer’s Market’s main-season vendors, including Skeba Farms.
“We’re very fortunate to really enjoy some nice relationships with our customers and our vendors,” Robinson said. “We have a cozy market. It’s very much a tradition.”
