Westfield Fashion Fundraiser Benefits Grief Support

The proceeds from Roosevelt Intermediate School’s Benefit Dinner and Fashion Show held this spring were donated to the non-profit Westfield-based organization, Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss.

On hand for the presentation of the $10,000 check were (l-r): Jeannie Arida (parent volunteer); Pam Friedman, Roosevelt Computer Technology teacher (co-chair); Mandi Zucker (Program Director for Imagine); Michelle Weintraub (parent volunteer); Sharon Dorry, Roosevelt School Nurse (co-chair); Allison Balcof, Roosevelt Computer Technology ateacher (co-chair); Shannon Friedberg (parent volunteer); and Anthe Angelides (parent volunteer).

lthough Pam Friedman took the lead at Roosevelt in recommending the fundraiser for the grief support center which serves children and adults, she said, “There wasn’t anyone who wasn’t on board.

Lord & Taylor in Westfield provided the fashions which were modeled by members of the Roosevelt Community.   A "Tricky Tray" with gift baskets from many vendors was also held during the event.

Newark Man Shot in Roselle Dies, Police Charge Suspect with Murder

ROSELLE, NJ — Twenty  one-year-old Tyquan Johnson of Newark, who was shot in the early morning hours on Saturday in Roselle, died later that afternoon.
