WESTFIELD, NJ — The 2013 Westfield FestiFall street fair, sponsored by the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce (GWACC), is set to take place Sunday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. Tens of thousands are expected to arrive from all around to enjoy the annual event, which will close off downtown streets to cars to make way for pedestrians, vendors, rides and entertainment.

This year, organizers said “goodbye” to pony rides and “hello” to a second bungee trampoline and a second ticket booth, which should mean shorter lines and happier kids and parents.

“We listened to family attendee feedback and made changes to decrease the wait time,” explained GWACC Executive Director Heather Robinson.

There is no admission fee and parking will be free. The best spots to park, according to the GWACC, are in the South Avenue train station. From there, cross into the festival area through the train underpass. Downtown streets closed to traffic will include Prospect, Elm, East Broad and Quimby Streets.
