WESTFIELD, NJ — A recent charity golf outing organized by two Westfield residents was a high scoring event for community policing and several local charities.

Leprecohen LLC — the brainchild of Mark Shore and Barge Tennyson, of Westfield — recently presented checks to the Westfield Police Department, the Scotch Plains PBA and Mobile Meals of Westfield, organizers said. They donated $10,000 to each entity representing the proceeds from the company’s fundraiser, Shore said.

In the first year of what the duo hope to make an annual event, 96 golfers signed up to play at Shackamaxon Country Club, he said.

“We’re going to have this golf outing every year, and we’re going to raise funds for various charities and entities,” Shore said.

Leprecohen LLC, which is seeking nonprofit status, is donating an additional $2,500 raised at the event to Inroads to Opportunities, which supports employment options for teens and adults with disabilities in Union County, he said. Inroads was the charity of choice of the winners of the outing, Shore said.
