Peter Renwick, Principal of Westfield High School, the only school principal and one of the few educational administrators invited to attend the ECSA National Forum on Education Policy, found the experience an honor and rewarding. Following his appointment to ECS (Education Commission of the States) earlier this year, Renwick joined lawmakers, practitioners, and policy experts in Washington, D. C. for three days this summer to find common ground on tough education issues.
“The many nationally recognized presenters at this forum provided me with meaningful information and timely research on a number of relevant educational issues that will have a direct impact on the Westfield Public Schools in the next few years,” stated Renwick. “I was pleased to bring my unique perspective to the important educational issues that were discussed and evaluated,” he added.
Renwick, who is pictured (left) with Brian Sandoval, the chairman of ECS and governor of the state of Nevada, commented, “I was very impressed with the good work of this highly respected organization and look forward to representing the state of New Jersey as an ECS commissioner in the future.”
