WESTFIELD, NJ - In conjunction with Red Ribbon Drug Awareness Week, on Oct. 19 the Health and Wellness Coalition of Union County (HAWC) will honor the officers with the most DUI arrests in 2012, including four Westfield officers: Nicholas Bruno, Dennis DaSilva, Elizabeth Davis and Michael McCarthy.
“I think this is a result of the commitment the Westfield Police Department and its officers have to make the streets of Westfield safe for all,” said Westfield Police Chief David Wayman.
The awards ceremony, taking place at approximately 1 p.m., will be part of the 15th annual Union County Red Ribbon Drug Prevention Walk that day at Nomahegan Park in Cranford, which kicks off Red Ribbon Drug Prevention Week throughout Union County. The rain date is Oct. 26.
Red Ribbon is celebrated locally and nationally to increase awareness and support for substance abuse prevention, treatment and recovery.
