WESTFIELD, NJ — The deadline to submit applications for the Westfield Public School District’s preschool program for the 2014-2015 school year is Feb. 7, the district announced today.
Located at Lincoln School’s Early Childhood Learning Center at 728 Westfield Avenue, the integrated program, which uses the Creative Curriculum for Preschool, is comprised of general education students and students who have been found eligible for special education. The cost for general education students is $330 per month. Students who qualify under the income eligibility guidelines set forth under the Federal Child Nutrition Program may be eligible for a reduced charge.
Preschool classes meet Monday through Friday, from 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. for the three-year-old morning session and from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. for the four-year-old afternoon session.
Applicants must be residents of Westfield and three or four years of age before Oct. 1, 2014. Applications for the lottery are available on the district website at www.westfieldnjk12.org/preschool.
During school hours, applications may also be obtained in person at Lincoln School, the Office of Special Education Services and the main office of any of the Westfield elementary schools. All applications must be brought to Lincoln School no later than 2 p.m. on Feb. 7.
General education students will be selected for the program by lottery on Feb. 7 at 3 p.m. All applicants will be notified of their acceptance status by phone and or email.
An original birth certificate with raised seal and proof of residency are required for those new students admitted to the program
