WESTFIELD, NJ — On Friday, Westfield High School student Matt Luppino signed his letter of intent to run boys cross country for Duke University, and Alik Morgan signed to play boys soccer for the University of Central Florida.

“These student-athletes are a credit to our school district's academic standards and high level of athletic competition,” said Westfield Athletic Director Sandra Mamary. “Matt is  the ‘leader of the pack’ that we see running through the streets, in Tamaques Park and at Gary Kehler Stadium with his teammates and a common goal—Blue Devil Pride. WHS only had one year to watch Alik on the soccer field and he made every game count, especially the Scotch Plains-Fanwood game winning goal. Congratulations to both boys for realizing their dreams and goals can come true.”
