Westfield Student Wins Christmas Drawing Contest


While vacationing in Cape May this summer, Caroline Bielen, a fifth grader at the McKinley School in Westfield was already thinking about Christmas. While dining at the Blue Pig Tavern inside the historic Congress Hall Hotel in Cape May, Caroline entered the Christmas in July Blue Pig drawing contest.

After reviewing more than 250 entries, Congress Hall selected Caroline’s drawing of a Christmas themed pig adorned with a red and green holiday lights as the winning entry for their official Blue Pig Tavern holiday ornament for 2013. The ornament is currently for sale in the Tommy’s Folly store at Congress Hall.

Caroline has also represented Westfield and Union County with her artwork in the 2012 Art Educators of New Jersey Youth Art Month held at the Liberty Hall Center in Union.
