Westfield Woman Confronted Burglar at Her Home, Cops Say

WESTFIELD, NJ — A Westfield woman confronted an intruder at her home on Monday, according to the Westfield Police Department.

The incident took place at 1:45 p.m. on the 800 block of West South Ave. The resident was returning home and confronted the man as she was walking up to her rear door, according to police records. The suspect fled, heading west on the railroad tracks. Police serached the area but did not find him. At the time she made the burglary report, the victim did not know if anything was stolen from the residence.

The suspect is described as a black male, tall with a thin build, with short hair and some facial hair, wearing an orange or gray t-shirt and dark pants.
