PARKLAND, FL- The Westglades Girls basketball team continues its march through the county playoffs. The Wolves defeated Sunrise Middle School on Wednesday by a score of 34-30 in a hard fought battle.

"It was by far our toughest challenge yet," said Coach Marc Kiar. "The girls never gave up and came back from a 6 point deficit going into the 4th quarter to win the game."

The girls have now advanced to the final four of the county playoffs, reaching the Broward County semifinals.

Kayla Greyvensteyn led Westglades with 13 points. Ke'nya Clark added 10 points, Isabella Rector 9 and Ava Mangone had 2 points for the Wolves. Kayla Greyvensteyn led the way with 6 assists and Ava Walker grabbed 8 rebounds in the game.

"We are incredibly honored to have made it this far, and we can't wait for our next challenge. Win or lose, the players on this team have proven time and again that they will not quit until the final buzzer goes off. I am incredibly proud of all they have accomplished," added Coach Kiar.

Westglades' next opponent will be Driftwood Middle School on Monday, April 19, at 5:00pm at Pompano Beach High School.
