I would like to thank everyone who took the time to volunteer and contribute financially towards the Chirinos/Hasz campaign for the Berkeley Heights Town Council.
Without "YOU" we could not have run one of the most exciting campaigns Berkeley Heights has seen in years. We may have not received the support required to have a seat on the Council but we have not lost our desire to continue to participate and speak out on behalf of the voices of Berkeley Heights.
The people voted "NO" to the bond referendum. This is an indication that they are concerned about the difficult times ahead. I hope Councilwoman Perna, Councilman Bruno and Mayor Cohen keep this in mind as they work with the balance of the Council towards more important and pressing needs such as the Fire Safety Vehicles, Senior Bus, deteriorating infrastructure, as well as parking constraints our commuters, residents and businesses are experiencing today.
This is Perna and Bruno's second chance to act on what they have been preaching while campaigning. I am hopeful that they will reach out to the many talented residents who are ready to volunteer and participate in subcommittees and commissions, as well as listen carefully to the tax-paying residents who have entrusted them to represent us on the Council.
I wish them well and look forward to seeing them honor their promises during their 3-year term.
