Teachers Develop Curriculum
Summer break also saw teachers in class prepping for the new school year that begins Thursday, Sept. 4. Teachers worked with their supervisors and Assistant Superintendent Mary Oates to develop curriculum that meet new state standards and performance-based standardized assessments. Working in small groups by grade level and subject, the writing also gave teachers the opportunity to have ongoing, meaningful conversations about interesting ideas in their fields, about how children learn, and about ways to improve their classroom practice.
