Which Would You Choose - a Danube River Cruise or Costa Rica?

Cramers Carpet One chose the Danube River Cruise!

Sailing by riverboat on Europe's second longest river, 900+ Carpet One Floor and Home Stores and a strong showing of its members embarked the Avalon Panorama in Hungary with a number of destinations along the way including Slovakia, Austria and Germany.   Budapest, Hungary is an exciting and vibrant city. Of particular note was a massive hilltop castle and the bridges connecting ancient Buda on the right bank and Pest or "Pesch" as the Hungarians call it, on the left bank.  Bratislava, Slovakia, situated in the foothills of the Carpethian Mountains was full of history and charm.   We sailed on to Melk-Durnstein with a visit to an enormous Benedictine Abbey. This area is a favorite where much of the Austrian wines are grown and produced. We waltzed with our eyes and ears through the city of Vienna, otherwise known as the "City of Music". We could have stayed there for days savoring all the beautiful locations and sounds. Salzburg, home of Mozart, is a very special city with spectacular architecture and landscape.  The hills were clearly alive with a separate excursion touring familiar places from "The Sound of Music".  Our final destination in Regensberg, Germany is one of Bavaria's top cultural centers, a well preserved medieval city.

Our personalized cruise designed specifically for Carpet One Floor and Home members which is an international buying cooperative, was far beyond the typical river cruising experience.  The Carpet One "corporate core" knows how to throw a gala event. From an extravagant red carpet dinner with a performance of "Phantom of the Opera" in an old gothic church in Budapest to a symphony concert in Vienna and a full blown Bavarian Festival with typical specialties of music, food and drink is just a glimpse of our memorable travels.   A lovely gift awaited us in our balcony stateroom each evening as a token souvenir  for every country we visited. It was a tremendous adventure (with great weather by the way), and we feel so fortunate to be part of an organization that shows one-of-a-kind recognition for its members, their contributions and successes. A huge shout out and thanks from Cramers to the "Mother Ship" for a terrific journey!  (Only one complaint and it really shouldn’t be one, but conducting any kind of business back home via “wifi” was nearly impossible.  What were we thinking?)

Cramers Carpet One is located in Madison, New Jersey.
