MADISON, NJ - A 23-year-old Whippany man was charged with several drug-related and driving offenses after a single-car accident on Sunday, May 11 in Madison.
According to Madison police, Andrew Bello's car was involved in a rollover crash at around 7:40 p.m. on Rosedale Avenue near Lewis Drive.
Patrolmen Luis Goncalves and Stephanie Corrao investigated the incident and observed hypodermic needles and several folds containing suspected heroin in plain view. Further investigation determined that Bello was allegedly operating the vehicle while under the influence of heroin.
Bello was charged with possession of a Schedule I drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic needles, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, driving under the influence within 1,000 feet of a school zone, careless driving, and failure to maintain lane. Bello was then released to a family member pending a court appearance.
