BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ- Senior Brianna Cagan is involved with clubs at Governor Livingston such as Interact, Student Auxiliary, and has even started a club Student Movement Against Cancer with fellow students and adviser Jeannette Gates. In addition, Cagan is a cheerleader and is also involved with Relay for Life, running her own team called the Pearly Girls. Over the summer, she spends her time in Avon-By-the-Sea and enjoys going to the beach.
Q: Who do you most admire?
A: My answer would definitely be Ruth Bader Ginsberg. I love her, I love that woman.
Q: What do you consider your greatest achievement?
A: My club Student Movement Against Cancer or SMAC.
Q: What is your most treasured possession?
A: This necklace that I wear. My grandma got it and a matching ring for my sixteenth birthday because my grandfather bought her a very similar one before he died.
Q: What is something no one knows about you?
A: I am a shoe collector. No one needs that many pairs of shoes, but I have 17 pairs.
Q: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you like to live?
A: Greece.
Q:What do you value most in your friends?
A: Honesty.
Q: How would you describe your year in three words?
A: Difficult but rewarding.
Q: Where is your favorite place to eat?
A: FINS in Bradley Beach.
Q: What is the most important lesson you’ve learned so far?
A: Don’t judge others just because you judge yourself.
Q: Which class has been your favorite?
A: AP Seminar - I absolutely loved that class.
Q: What is one moment from high school that stands out most to you?
A: I would say the first time I spoke to the Board of Education. There were 350 people watching and I had no idea that there were that many people listening until people were contacting me about it afterwards.
Q: How do you best stay organized?
A: I don’t. But I try my best to manage my time in increments.
Q: If your name appeared in a dictionary, what would the definition be?
A: Crazy but dedicated and hardworking.
Q: Are you excited to graduate?
A: Yes, but I’m not excited to leave everyone.
Q: How has your high school experience been in comparison to your expectations?
A: I was nervous about going to high school and had low expectations because I was bullied really badly in middle school. Instead, I ended up having a great experience and made some of the best friends I could imagine.
