WHRHS Boys Soccer Wins In Shut Out, 3-0 Over Franklin

WARREN, NJ - Watchung Hills, No. 5 in The Star Ledger Top 20, remains unbeaten after a 3-0 victory Thursday over Franklin. Watchung Hills record now stands at 7-0-1.

Ben Roth had a goal and an assist for Watchung Hills. Kevin Cagnetta and Reed Arnold both added goals for the Warriors.

J.P. Gavin made two saves and Noah Scanlon and Chris Teixeira had one save apiece to combine for the shutout.

The Warriors take on North Hunterdon next at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

The Somerset County Tournament continues on Saturday, Oct. 5, but since Watchung Hills has been awarded the top seed, the Warriors have earned a double bye into the quarterfinals.

Pingry, the second seed, third-seeded Bridgewater-Raritan and fourth-seeded Gill St. Bernard’s also have earned double byes into the quarterfinals of the 15-team tournament. 
 
The semifinals will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the site of the higher seed. The championship match is Saturday, Oct. 26 at Watchung Hills at 3 p.m.
