HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Austin Percario made it to Hollywood. But will he stay?
The Watchung Hills senior from Warren Township auditioned in Boston and received three "yes" votes and the coveted golden ticket to Hollywood.
This week, the competition heats up on "American Idol" when some of the golden ticket recipients sing in the Hollywood or Home round.
New this year, many of the contestants will be made to sing for their "Idol" lives before they even unpack their bags.
"American Idol" kicks off Hollywood Week on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 8 p.m. on FOX.
The American Idol judges were impressed with Percario's rendition of “Titanium” by David Guetta ft. Sia, at the audition in Boston and handed him a Golden Ticket. Keith Urban described his voice as “Justin Bieber at 5 a.m."
Besides having a familiar name in town, you may recognize him from the first season of "The X Factor." Percario auditioned with friend Emily Wilson as AusEm and eventually were paired with others in "The X Factor"-formed group “inTENsity."
