SUMMIT, NJ - Salerno Duane Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM of Summit has continued its tradition of supporting the Summit High School Football Team, with Mike Salerno personally delivering a $5,000 check to 2020 Hilltopper Varsity team captains Austin Groce and Charlie Wattick.

Salerno called the support, "A donation that Salerno Duane looks forward to making every year. Have a great season."

The Summit High School Football team was the winningest program in Union County from 2010-19, compiling a record of 89-20 good for an .817 winning percentage. The Hilltoppers qualfied for the playoffs every year of the decade and won 13 sectional playoff games and three State Championships.

For their part, the Groce and Wattick said, "Thank you to Salerno Duane for your donation. Your continued support will allow our team to purchase equipment and supplies critical to our season."

The Maroon and White opens the 2020 season October 3 versus Rahway at Tatlock Field. Kick-off is set for 1 p.m.
