Are you looking for something to do during Winter Break? Livingston Library is showing two movies for families on Wednesday, February 20. Even though both movies are family-friendly, people of all ages are invited. You’re sure to enjoy them!
At 1:30, Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski star in BIG MIRACLE, an incredible rescue adventure. This is the amazing true story that inspired the world and captured the hearts of millions. When a family of whales is trapped by rapidly forming ice in the Arctic Circle, a small-town reporter and an animal-loving volunteer rally an unlikely coalition of Alaskan natives, oil tycoons and the Russian and American military to set aside their differences and free the whales before it's too late.
At 7:00, Disney Studios bring enchantment again with The Odd Life Of Timothy Green, an inspiring, magical story for the whole family. Cindy and Jim, a happily married couple, can't wait to start a family but can only dream about what their child would be like. They write down all they wish for in a child, put them in a box, and bury them in the garden. That night, a boy smeared with dirt, with leaves sprouting from his legs, appears in their house and says his name is Timothy. Timothy's sunny nature magically heartens the lives of everyone he encounters--including a young girl with her own secret, the stern woman who owns their town's pencil factory, and even gruff granddad. What the movie is really about is Cindy and Jim learning to be better parents by working through their own childhood issues.
The Livingston Library Endowment Fund sponsors all film programs. They are free and you don’t have to register in advance.
