SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - For folks experiencing printer trouble at home or for commuters working on the train, the South Orange Public Library now offers a way to print from personal computers or mobile devices wherever they are.
Anyone with a working Internet connection can now send print requests for emails, attachments, photos, and other documents to the library’s printers for pick-up.
Users can forward a document to a direct email address, attach a document to the library’s wireless printing website, or install a mobile app on their smartphones or tablets. They can also download a driver to their Windows computers that would add the library’s printers among their own.
Once they have submitted their print requests, users can come to the library’s circulation or reference desks and a librarian will verify their requests, collect payment, and release their jobs to the library printer. Standard printing rates apply ($0.15 per b&w page; $1.00 per color page), and all print jobs are held for 3 days at which point uncollected jobs are deleted.
Anyone interested in taking advantage of this convenient and time-saving service is encouraged to visit the library’s home page (www.sopl.org) and click on Wireless Printing along the left-hand side, or ask for a demo from one of our librarians.
