Woman Victim of Attempted Mugging Monday Morning

PATERSON, NJ - A city woman warded off an attempt to snatch her purse early Monday morning.

According to Paterson police, a 20-year-old woman was approached from behind by a mugger who tried to steal her purse when she was near the corner of East 23rd Street and 18th Avenue shortly after 2 a.m. The woman put up a struggle and managed to get away with her belongings intact and without injury before the suspect ran off.
