NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Police units responded to a report of a residential burglary that occurred on Woodcrest Road shortly before noon on Friday.
The resident reported that she came home and found that her back sliding door was open. She indicated that she then continued looking through the first floor of the residence, where she found numerous drawers open and rummaged through.
She then heard one of the upstairs doors slam closed, at which point the woman left her house and phoned 911 from a neighbor’s house.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit responded and a thorough search of the surrounding area yielded negative results. New Providence Police detectives processed the scene and the burglary is currently under investigation.
