Though it looked like the weather was not going to cooperate, students at Woodland Elementary School, a part of the Methacton School District, were able to get in their annual Field Day competitions. Much like an elaborate track meet, the students in Kindergarten, first and second grades competed this morning, while those in third and fourth had afternoon events.

Woodland Physical Education Teacher Jennifer Malloy said that the day was designed to have fun with activities that keep kids moving.

“Our goal is to try our best, have fun and promote good sportsmanship,” said Malloy. “The children are participating in some track and field events, some relays, as well as some fun games they are very familiar with from gym class.”
