Several crews today tied up traffic in the township throughout the day on Thursday. From electrical lines, to tree cleaning, a number of tie-ups are out there to keep an eye out for while you travel in Lower Providence today.
At Trooper Road and Main (Ridge) Street, trucks marked with Verizon logos were working in both ladder trucks on overhead lines and digging below man-hole covers at lines underground. With construction of the new Wawa going on across the street, it is likely this intersection will have frequent delays.
Traffic is passing by in both directions, though the southbound lanes, closest to Sunoco, are blocked, forcing those turning right onto Ridge to use the “straightaway” lane instead.
More snarls were found along Ridge, as cars traveled toward Collegeville. The extra passing lane, in the eastbound lanes, was closed due to tree trimming. Several crews were out with ladder trucks trimming large pines that line the property in and around the Blue Eagle Motel.
One lane is closed, though traffic is passing in both directions. Flag crews are standing by, as some digging is also taking place in the area. While marked with cones, sections of Ridge are difficult to pass with narrow lane restrictions as the crews work to clear the area.
If you see other work going on in the township, share it on the LP TAP Facebook page here or call 215-680-6151 to report delays.
