LIVINGSTON, NJ - Recently, the YMCA had a grand turnout at its annual golf tournament to benefit kids, with 150 golfers and volunteers participating at the Montclair Golf Club.

Last summer, 3,400 children were able to call themselves campers of the Metropolitan YMCA and this year’s outing raised over $90,000 which will allow even more kids to have the opportunity to go to camp this coming year.

Over the past 19 years, the golf tournament has raised more than $1.2 million dollars in support for this cause and can boast a team of dedicated sponsors and participants including Eastman Companies, St. Barnabas Health, Precor and the McMullen Foundation.

This year’s recipient of the Kenneth DeGhetto Champion Cup, an honor presented annually in the spirit of generosity, sportsmanship and support for the YMCA, its ideals and its mission to strengthen community through youth development, healthy living and social responsiblity, was Stuart Vorcheimer. Begun in 2011, past recipients of the Champion Cup include its namesake Ken DeGhetto, and Susan P. Ascher.
