BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The Berkeley Heights Community Pool was all smiles today as the community came together to celebrate Healthy Kids Day. This event, sponsored by the Berkeley Heights YMCA, proved to be a memorable way to start what is sure to be a summer filled with fun and healthy times at the pool.
Local partnerships like the Wharton Music Center, the Girls Scouts, Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad and the YMCA were represented at the event among others to promote Berkeley Heights and highlight the wonderful resources the community has to offer.
The event featured exciting activities such as Zumba, Volleyball, Swimming, Face Painting and Arts and Crafts.
Head coordinator, Tiffany Escott expressed that the main goal of Healthy Kids Day was to “get the community to come out and get involved, to bring families together and have fun”.
Every person at the event was certainly having a blast, especially when participating in Zumba with Ms. Paula. The children all ran to meet her in the field to dance to lively music in the summer sun.
Today’s event was exactly what the community needed to celebrate health and family fun in the right way.
