If you are looking for a calm, relaxing retreat that will soothe the body and soul, you need look no further. The evening gentle yoga workshop series for adults 18 years and older continues each Tuesday night through March 30 from 7:00-8:15 p.m. at Trailside Nature and Science Center in Mountainside.

"After a long day at work, this program offers relaxation of body and mind," said Freeholder Chairman Daniel P. Sullivan.

Participants are treated to the sounds of an indoor waterfall, while learning yoga techniques to help relieve stress, all in the beautiful surroundings of Trailside's Visitor Center. Claire M. Bay, a yoga instructor certified by the Chopra Center in New York City, guides participants in the Raja yoga techniques to awaken poise and integrate body and mind to gain a centered awareness in the midst of everyday life. Soothing music will enhance the overall experience.

The fee for each session is $10.00 for Union County residents and $15.00 for out-of-county participants. Pre-registration is preferred as space is limited. Walk-ins will be accommodated as space permits. Participants are not required to sign up for all sessions. Doors open 15 minutes prior to the class and participants are asked to bring a yoga mat or pillow.
