PLAINFIELD, NJ - Some residents who take NJ Transit were treated to the news that partking rates at the Netherwood train station in Plainfield will soon increase.

According to the NJ Transit website, it currently costs $3 for a daily permit, and $105 for a quarterly one.

But the flier that was recently left on the windshields of commuter vehicles notes that the third quarter rate will increase to $130.  Effective September 1, the daily rate will be $4, and it will cost $60 per month, or $180 per quarter.  The lots at Netherwood on both South Avenue and North Avenue are serviced by Pacific System.

There are three lots at the Plainfield station.  Lot 1, at 4th Street and Park Avenue, is maintained by Pacific System, and only has daily parking currently available for $3.  Lot 2, at 4th Street, and Lot 4 at 4th Street and Park Avenue, are owned by the City of Plainfield.
