Dr. Yvan Ducheine MD, MBA is officially running for the Third Ward Council Seat. Dr. Ducheine’s commitment to his community, his legacy of improving the lives of others and his passion for empowering people through knowledge makes him the ideal person for the seat.
Dr. Ducheine is a general and bariatric surgeon with a specialty in aesthetics. He has degrees from New Jersey Medical School and Rutgers Business School. As a resident of Roselle for 39 years and with school children in the public-school system, it was important to Dr. Ducheine that he did his part to make the community better. He currently serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Roselle Planning Board. He is a member of the Roselle Neighborhood Preservation Committee, which is a new initiative to revitalize and beautify Chestnut Street between First and Third Avenues. He has volunteered countless hours with Cercle De L’amitie De New Jersey and was the recipient of their 2019 Community Service Award.
“I honestly believe we are all in this together and we must all do our part to move Roselle forward, the Right Way Forward. This is why I volunteer my time to give back socially and help borough initiatives that make Roselle better. Dr. Ducheine quoted John Dunn, “No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main” Instead of watching on the sidelines, I want to proactively work with residents and existing elected officials to improve the Third Ward and Roselle overall.
Dr. Ducheine’s original campaign kickoff was originally canceled because of the Coronavirus pandemic. “I quickly focused my attention on educating residents on the topics around the virus, including proper protective measures. Nationally, this crisis has shown the importance of having the right leadership in place. I know I would add value to the current Council. I am optimistic about having an opportunity to apply my skills, education, and passion to the process of moving Roselle forward!”
