Says Governor is making New Jersey’s families pay for the State’s wild spending spree and challenges Democrat Freeholders to stand up to the Governor.
Governor Phil Murphy continues to illustrate his blatant disregard for family and community values with his most recent proposal to eliminate more than 300 school districts across the state -- including more than 30 which are located in Bergen County.
“Bergen County is home to some of the best public schools in the country, and yet our governor and the Democrats want to consolidate them, along with reducing faculty and administration, to pay for his continued, irresponsible spending,” said Corrado Belgiovine, a Republican nominee for Bergen County Freeholder. “But we cannot afford to compromise our children’s education – the price is just too high.”
“The Democrat legislature takes Bergen County's hard-earned taxpayer money and sends it all over the state, leaving us pennies on the dollar for our children's education. The majority of Bergen County's school districts receive a mere 6% of the school taxes they contribute, while cities like Newark receive 76%. And our Democratic Freeholders stand by in silence while the Governor destroys our education system by dismantling our high-performing districts. And when our school rankings drop, so do our property values,” concluded Belgiovine.
It is time for new leadership, Republican leadership that will fight for Bergen County, fight to protect our money, and most importantly, fight for quality education for our children.
Belgiovine, a Woodcliff Lake Councilman, is running on the Republican slate for Bergen County Freeholder, alongside of Alyssa Dawson of Westwood and Kathleen Cericola of Waldwick. The Republican team is working to end the complete control the Democrats have over Bergen County government.
