Hello, my name is Bobby Bing and I am excited to share with you that I am running for a seat on the Borough of Hasbrouck Heights Council.
I am writing this letter to introduce myself and let you know what a great privilege and honor it would be to serve my community on the Council. Before I get in to the “why” I’m running, I’d like to tell you a little about my family and myself.
Who is Bobby Bing?
I was born in Secaucus, NJ in 1979 and was raised in North Bergen, NJ by Richard and Kathleen Bing being the youngest of three sons. My father, a Vietnam War veteran and carpet salesman, and my Mother, a powerful and brave woman, instilled the values of hard work, discipline and community in me at a very young age. It is these values that I work to instill within my own children, and to model through service to our community of Hasbrouck Heights.
In 2004, I married Rosanna Minervini and together we built our family here in Hasbrouck Heights. Our family of six includes Kathleen (12), who attends Hasbrouck Heights Middle School, Angelica (10), who attends Lincoln Elementary School, Patrick (4), who attends Pre-K 4 at Corpus Christie, and our newest addition, Axel (9 month old puppy) who is attending obedience school.
Rosanna and I moved to Hasbrouck Heights in 2007, along with my father, with the purpose of finding our forever home and starting a family. What attracted us to Hasbrouck Heights was the aesthetics, small town feel, highly rated school system and great location to everything and anything. What I was not aware of and have come to truly appreciate is the sense of community built within Hasbrouck Heights. Today, I have the pleasure of serving our community and upholding Hasbrouck Heights community values through contribution to the following town programs:
- Hasbrouck Heights Soccer Association: Recreation and Travel coach
- Hasbrouck Heights Little League: T-ball and Softball coach
- Hasbrouck Heights Recreation: Softball coach
- Hasbrouck Heights Middle School: School Safety Committee
- Mayor’s Environmental and Transportation Commission Liaison
Academically, I am a graduate of North Bergen High School (97’), hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from New Jersey City University (02’) where I majored in Management & Finance, and hold a Masters of Business Administration in Innovation and Entrepreneurial Leadership from Felician University (11’). I am also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS).
Professionally, I am Managing Director at Santander Commercial Bank and serve as the Chief Administrative Officer. In this role, I am responsible for the prioritization of our strategic objectives, delivery of process and business improvements, and driving overall operating performance. Prior to Santander, I was with HSBC Private Bank for 12 years and prior to that, I was with Deloitte & Touché for 5 years as a Manager in their Financial Advisory Services group, working in their Litigation & Dispute practice.
So now the “why?”. This community has allowed my family to be part of something special, has given us an extended family, enough relationships to last a lifetime and place to call home and it is now time for me to give back, shaping the future and upholding the core characteristics our community members have established. I believe it is our elected officials’ responsibility to ensure our community’s safety and to promote a positive environment for families to thrive in, children to grow up in and a place where businesses want to grow. I look forward to being part of delivering on this responsibility going forward.
To represent our community’s beliefs and priorities in serving on Hasbrouck Heights Council, I look to leverage capabilities I have acquired in various professional and volunteer leadership roles. I have extensive experience working on defining strategy, budgeting, process re-engineering, large scale initiatives management, strategic expense reduction initiatives, de-risking strategies, managing large cross-functional teams, and achieving outcomes bringing together internal and external partners.
I believe the skillset I have accrued is transformational to serving this position, I can offer fresh perspective on issue management and serve as a new voice for those that need one. I will do so by listening openly to represent the concerns of all our community members with the goal of building a better Hasbrouck Heights; one that thrives socially and economically while maintaining our “small town” community experience in our neighborhoods.
I am running for promotion of our community’s development, and not against a particular platform or deliberate opposition of a candidate. I look forward to representing everyone in Hasbrouck Heights fairly, promoting positivity, integrity and honesty in all my interactions, and treating all that I encounter with the utmost respect.
We live in a great town! I am looking forward to working together to make it an even better place to live.
