On February 1, we gave a party for the generous Belmar Arts Center volunteers. These volunteers do many things — both large and small — that contribute to the work we do, and we wanted them to know how much they are appreciated.
Volunteers help with directing exhibitions, hanging the shows, cleaning up the landscaping, installing furnace filters, creating new exhibits, keeping us on social media, entering data into the computer, leading shared interest groups, making calls — anything and everything.
BAC (Belmar Arts) offers a unique outlet for artists of all ages and media to display their work, meet up with other artists and find their creativity. However, with only one part-time paid staff member, our exhibits (over 20 scheduled this year); classes and workshops (16 scheduled through June alone); shared interest groups (currently eight); plus the fundraisers, musical events and parties could not happen without the help of volunteer members.
As well as the activities above, another opportunity to assist in guiding the direction of the BAC is by being a trustee on the board. The trustees discuss and make decisions as a team on varying issues, large and small, that affect the current path of the BAC. New ideas and fresh thoughts are greatly welcome and help the BAC grow and make us a desirable place for artists to want to come to as a destination.
Volunteering at the BAC is a fun way to meet with other artists, enrich the art community while making things happen!
