I rarely remember dreams
BUT
This one dug deeply
into my brain

We have an election in
my town this November
AND
Each candidate thoroughly researched
every issue before he or she spoke on it

Each candidate told the voters what she
or he is for and said no more about her/his
opponent than
It appears that my opponent disagrees with me
OR
My opponent voted differently than my position

No candidate commented on an opponent’s
Intelligence
Character
Integrity
Looks
Motivations

In short, the candidates were civil
to each other and did not insult
the intelligence of the voter.

Then I woke up and read some
of the letters and news stories
in the local papers.
Oh well!
