On behalf of the BOC I would like to welcome you tonight and thank the Nutley Clergy Fellowship for the privilege of addressing you this evening.
Thanksgiving marks the beginning of our holiday season. The weather is changing and the leaves are falling. It is a time to gather with the warmth of family and thank God for all his blessings. A time to love our neighbor, a time to help those in need, and a time to reflect on the things that matter most.
How fitting that we usher in Thanksgiving with this interfaith service. Just as we gather with family we gather tonight as a community. No matter the different perspectives and faiths we come from… tonight we come together as a united community to thank and praise God for all the things we have been given, the freedoms we enjoy, and the love ones who enrich our lives.
As Mayor of our beautiful township I am going to ask for your help as we have many challenges ahead of us. I ask for your prayers. I ask that you pray for God to guard this town. I ask that you pray for God to guide me and my fellow commissioners in all our labors and actions on behalf of our residents. Pray for our wisdom and foresight. Pray for those who need our assistance. Pray for our benevolence. Pray for a strong and safe Nutley and pray that we remain a united community.
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving.
