Here are a few of the activities happening in the City of Plainfield this week: 

Monday

  • Combined Regular City Council Meeting 7 pm at the Municipal Courthouse on Watching Avenue. Click here to view meeting agenda: See agenda 
  • Plainfield Public Library: Band Lab from 4-5 pm for ages 11-17. Learn about the free online Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) BandLab. Create beats, edit effects and use digital instruments online to make your own compositions.

Tuesday

Sign Up for E-News

  • Free Vaccinations for Children, 1 – 5 pm City Hall Annex
  • BOE Executive Session at 6:30 pm to discuss personnel and legal matters.  BOE Work & Study Meeting follows at 8 p, in the PHS Conference room, 950 Park Avenue.
  • Plainfield Public Library:  6 – 7 pm Join "Field Station Dinosaur" for a fun program including music, stories, and a visit from a 15 foot T-Rex!
  • DuCret School of Art: Zen Meditation 7-9 pm with Kurt Spellmeyer, a Zen priest with 40 years of experience. 

Wednesday

  • Senior Space continues at the Plainfield Public Library for 10 am to 2 pm with morning coffee, fitness class, wreath making and Cybersecurity  discussion
  • Coffee Cup Art at 4 pm at the Plainfield Public Library
  • Healthy Plainfield in collaboration with the City of Plainfield provide Free fresh fruits and vegetables are available at New Covenant Church, 225 E 7th Street, Plainfield NJ 07060
  • Jewelry Making Class at the Senior Center, 400 E. Front Street  at 1:30 pm
  • Plainfield Public library: 4-5 pm Storymakers Teen Program (ages 11-17) Use techniques to free your imagination and extend your storytelling capabilities!
  • DuCret School of Art: Open Studio Figure Drawing  7 -9 pm Bring your own materials and draw with a live nude model each week. Several short poses each evening encourage fast gesture drawing and help artists to develop hand-eye coordination.

Thursday

  • Planning Board Meeting, 7:30 pm City Hall Library
  • Free Vaccinations for Children, 9 am – 2 pm, City Hall Annex
  • Senior Center Annual Fashion Show and Revue at 6 pm at 400 E. Front Street.  Admission is $10

Friday

  • Healthy Plainfield “Aunt Bertha” demonstration at the Plainfield Library at 9:30 am
  • Petra’s Puppets at the Library: Steve Petra's Musical Zoo is setting up our Library with a team of uproarious puppets ready to entertain. This show will incorporate ventriloquism, comedy, puppetry and is great for all ages! 3-5 pm

Saturday

  • Seidler and Rushmore Pools will be open from Noon to 6 pm
  • Plainfield Division of Health is hosting a Free Rabies vaccination clinic at City Hall Parking Lot from 10 am to noon
  • PHS Alumni Association hosts its Hall of  Fame Luncheon at Giovannas on South Ave.

Sunday

  • Plainfield Vikings Flag Football Fundraiser for Stephon Roach  - 3 pm Seidler Field
  • DuCret Art Sale: Noon to 4 pm
