WOODLAND PARK, NJ - The Alfred Baumann Library kicked off its annual summer reading program in Municipal Council Chambers on June 13 with a visit from Turtle Dance Music. The summer reading theme for this year is “Libraries Rock!”

Library Director Linda Hoffman encouraged the kids in attendance to continue to read in the summer to combat “summer slide” while school is out. Participants of the program can choose whatever they would like to read - fiction, non-fiction, magazines, comics, or blogs.

Those who did not register yet can do so at the library or online at www.abwplibrary.org. There is a summer reading tab on the left side. Younger children will receive a sticker on their chart at the library for every 20 minutes read. Incentives are given along the way as the chart is filled up. Older children will earn prize entries for activities they complete on a bingo board.
