1 in 6 children face hunger each day across the United States. It is tradition for families to make enormous spreads of food for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Kwanzaa and all holidays this season. What we need to keep in mind is that so many families go without food. Even working families. I have a challenge for everyone to partake in.
Before you decide to throw away your Thanksgiving leftovers, package them and distribute them to the homeless or less fortunate in your neighborhood. If you know you won’t eat anymore of it Friday or Saturday don’t let it just sit in the fridge. Package it up and take to those who have not. Sharing is caring and it is among the highest forms of love there is.
Accept the challenge so we can all eat together.
