To the Editor:

I am excited to support and champion my friend Leila Morrelli for a seat on the Westfield Board of Education. Leila was one of my first friends when I moved to town over 10 years ago when our daughter's attended St. Paul's Day School together. She is a trusted and reliable friend, always willing to help someone in need. She is the kind of person that even though you don't talk as often as you should you can call her in the middle of the night, and she would come running — no questions asked.

She is a mother of three — Caroline, a freshmen at the high school, and sixth-grade twins James and Georgia at Edison Leila and her husband John moved to Westfield after their first child Caroline was born, for the strong sense of community and excellent school system.

Our newsletter delivers the local news that you can trust.

Leila works for the Mountainside Board of Education as a Speech Language Pathologist, helping preschool through middle school students. She has participated on various committees to assist with COVID preparedness for a safe return to school. She will bring her perspective and expertise as a mother and education professional to the Board of Education.

Now that her children are older, Leila wants to give back to the community that she loves and share her experience to continue to make the Westfield schools a place where all children can thrive. She is passionate about helping the children of Westfield and working with Superintendent Dolan and the Board of Education to support children's individual needs.

I applaud Leila Morrelli's commitment to Westfield and I hope you will join me in voting for her in November.
