Letter to the Editor
Culture is important to me. We are Mexican and we speak Spanish at home. But since we live in the United States, at times my children lose that Spanish influence and forget it. That’s why I enrolled them in the bilingual program at Mastery Molina Lower Elementary School.
It’s beneficial for my kids to learn how to read, write and speak in English and Spanish. If we go on vacation to Mexico, they understand the language, and when they apply for jobs in the future, they’ll know two languages and be prepared.
What makes the bilingual program, and the school, so great is the teachers. They are so patient with all the students and want them all to do well.
I actually just told the mother of one of my son’s friends about Molina Lower and how incredible the school is. If I could, I’d tell everyone with kids in kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade to bring their kids to this school. It’s exactly what we need here in Camden.
