(Writer's note: the following letter reflects my personal opinions and not the general consensus of the Board of Education)
My fellow constituents:
I would openly like to declare my support of Alveria Spencer for a seat on the Paterson School Board. Alveria has the level of commitment needed to assist our students with succeeding in life.
I believe Alveria is an extremely credible person as she currently holds a masters degree in Social work from Rutgers University.
Alveria also holds numerous certificates, awards, citations and honorable mentions from many civic and community based organizations, which is only a mere testament to her years of selfless community service work.
Alveria is a life-long resident of the city of Paterson and she is a product of the Paterson Public School System. Her many years of involvement with the children lend to the fact that she possess the skills needed to function in a leadership capacity.
It is my conviction and belief that Alveria has no immediate intention to run for higher office or climb any political ladder. she is a genuinely concerned grassroots advocate who will readily fight to protect the educational rights of Paterson's students regardless of race, creed, color or kind.
In my honest opinion, our school district could use another true advocate in its reigns. Someone who isn't afraid to tell it like it is. A person who will willingly & relentlessly battle Trenton on behalf of those who are unable to defend themselves against the enemies of public education.
So, my pick to be next School Board Commissioner is Alveria Spencer. I trust that all of my supporters will line up beside me in solidarity and for the children of this city.

All the best,
